Dry
Wax Additives For Reliable Slip and Rub Resistance
Where processing capabilities permit the use of dry waxes, Shamrocks
line of
micronized wax additives are ideal. Our polytetrafluoroethylene
(PTFE), polyethylene and fluoroethylene waxes are widely used
in UV cure systems to provide efficient slip and rub resistance
with minimal impact on the overall formulation. These micronized
additives represent the most recent advances in polymer selection,
particle size control and reproducible performance. They are
marketed under such well-respected trade names as:

EverGlideWax
Emulsions
These 25% active wax emulsions in UV monomer (TRPGDA) are made
using
Shamrocks patented technology. The small particle size
(2-3 microns) makes these products ideal for thin film applications
to provide slip and transit abrasion resistance, while maintaining
gloss and clarity. The product family includes:

Dispersions
EVERGLIDE UV 231-D: This 35% active fluoroethylene wax
dispersed in UV monomer (TRPGDA) provides an optimum balance
of slip and abrasion resistance provided by the synergistic
effects of polyethylene and PTFE.
EVERGLIDE
UV 395-D: This 35% active high molecular weight polyethylene
dispersed in UV monomer (TRPGDA) provides excellent abrasion
resistance with minimal effect on gloss or clarity.
EVERGLIDE
UV 511-D: This high molecular weight polyethylene is combined
with PTFE in TMPTA triacrylate to provide outstanding abrasion,
mar and block resistance. It is ideal for use in UV clears (OPV),
printing inks, flexible packaging applications and general industrial
coatings.
EVERGLIDE
UV 600-D is a 35% high molecular weight polyethylene dispersed
in tri-decyl stearate to provide excellent hardness and face-to-face
rub resistance in UV inks and overprint varnishes. It also offers
excellent recoatability and insolubility characteristics.
UltraGlide
PTFE Dispersions
ULTRAGLIDE UV 701: This 40% active PTFE dispersion in
UV monomer (TRPGDA) provides outstanding lubricity and mar and
abrasion resistance. Its small particle size (1-2 microns) makes
this product ideal for thin film applications, while eliminating
foaming during mixing. It is also available in a four-micron
average.
ULTRAGLIDE
UV 801: This 35% active PTFE wax is provided in non-active
monomer (tridecylstearate) for better wetting. It features a
small particle size (1-2 microns) and is ideal for thin film
applications in which outstanding lubricity and abrasion resistance
are required.
ULTRAGLIDE
UV 100-S is a 25% PTFE dispersed in EO-HDODA UV monomer
for high performance in UV printing and flexible packaging inks.
Featuring a tightly controlled, onemicron average particle size,
it offers outstanding dispersibility, formulation stability,
efficient PTFE transfer, slip and abrasion resistance
with maximum retention of gloss in both pigmented and clear
systems.
ULTRAGLIDE
UV 4-HD is a 40% four-micron PTFE dispersed in HDODA UV
monomer for excellent abrasion and chip resistance. It is especially
well suited for high performance specialty automotive coatings,
such as headlight covers, reflectors and interior light fixtures.
It is also available in a one-micron average.

Loading Wax Compounds for Paste Inks
NEW! EVERGLIDE UV 50-HL is
a high loading, 50% high molecular weight polyethylene compound
(five micron average) in UV monomer for superior abrasion resistance
in UV paste inks. It
is provided as a thick paste for easy delivery.

weight PTFE compound (five-micron average) in UV monomer for

UltraMatte
Matting Technology
The ULTRAMATTE UV SERIES is comprised of innovative 50% polyethylene/silica
dispersions in UV monomers that can efficiently matte even very
thin films with no appreciable effect on viscosity. These matting
agents provide excellent slip, mar resistance and burnish resistance
and can be post-added to the coating system. The series
