Color
Cosmetics: Ingredients for
Comfort and Safety
FluoroPURE™ PTFE is a family of unique fine powder cosmetic
grade PTFEs, distinguished by their spherical particles. When
FluoroPURE products are used in facial and eye care pressed
powders, they achieve a luxurious, dry, silky feel. Additionally,
FluoroPURE PTFEs are superior powder ingredient binders. They
have been used successfully in blushes, eye shadows, eyeliners,
foundations, loose powders, lipsticks and more. FluoroPURE PTFEs
provide ease of application, spreadability, outstanding skin
adhesion and excellent play time.

FluoroTOUCH™
PTFE/PE combines FluoroPURE PTFE and our finest polyethylene
(PE). These products are available in custom blends for a unique
skin feel. In addition, they are
co-micronized using a special process to produce uniform particle
size.
HydroPURE™
PTFE Water Dispersions are ideal for special applications.
CeraPURE™
PEs are carefully selected to provide the finest skin feel
through uniform particle size and shape.
MicroPURE™

Skincare:
Dispersed Ingredients for Luxury Plus Efficacy
FluoroPURE
UltraFINE™ PTFE — one of Shamrock’s most exciting innovations
— is fueling the growth of fine skincare products with SPF (Sun
Protection Factor). Independent laboratory testing has confirmed
SPF enhancement with FluoroPURE UltraFINE (See Figure
1). This unique ingredient can help active sunscreens block
ultraviolet rays that are harmful to the skin, while maintaining
and enhancing the elegance of the overall formulation. FluoroPURE
UltraFINE is available in polymer fluids, silicones and water
and is recommended for all broad-spectrum formulae.

Nanosun™
Ultrafine Zinc Oxide Dispersions are ester-coated sunscreens
designed to achieve high SPF ratings. Nanosun is compatible
with titanium dioxide in sunscreen formulations and delivers
excellent tactile properties. Our patented process produces
a smooth particle with very high stability due to the chemical
bonding of the liquid phase.
Nailcare:
Fortifiers with High Slip Feel
FluoroPURE
and FluoroPURE UltraFINE can be used to fortify topcoats
and nail enamel for long wear plus high slip.

FluoroPURE™
PTFE is one of the slipperiest substances known (C.O.F.
= 0.04). In addition, Shamrock offers a high, uniform surface
area through our exclusive, multi-step micronization process.
A polishing step is added to assure roundness, and pH neutrality
is carefully controlled. The result is a unique fine particle
that is non-irritating to skin and delivers the desirably smooth
feel responsible for total skin comfort.

FluoroPURE™
Spherical PTFE Powders are
ideal as process binders in powder make-up formulae. Their outstanding
slip properties enhance the even application of color cosmetics
while providing the most desirable tactile feel. Applications:
Pressed powders, loose powders, blushes, foundations, eye shadows,
nail topcoats and enamels, deodorants and antiperspirants.
- FluoroPURE-100C
low crystalline powder has an average particle size of 2 microns.
- FluoroPURE-103C
crystalline powder has an average particle size of 5 microns.
- FluoroPURE-104C
crystalline powder has an average particle size of 2 microns.
FluoroPURE
UltraFINE™ Submicron PTFE Dispersions are ideal for SPF
skincare and suncare products, particularly in broad spectrum
formulations containing Avobenzone, Benzophenone 3, TiO2, and
ZnO (See Figure 1). Applications: Suncare
and SPF skincare, nail topcoats, lip products and antiperspirants.
- FluoroPURE
UltraFINE-25CS is 25% PTFE in polyisobutene available
at 0.5 and 0.3 microns.
- FluoroPURE
UltraFINE-35CS is 35% PTFE in polyisobutene available
at 0.5 microns.
- FluoroPURE
UltraFINE-50CW is the newest entry to the submicron line;
it is 50% PTFE in water available at 0.4 microns. Other carriers
such as poly- alphaolefins and silicones are available.

FluoroTOUCH™
Co-micronized Wax Blends combine our finest PTFE with spherical
polyethylenes for use as process binders in powder make-up formulae
and for special applications. Applications: Pressed powders,
blushes, eye shadows and skincare creams.
- FluoroTOUCH-135C
is a 5-micron blend at an apparent density of 1.55.
- FluoroTOUCH-235C
is a 5-micron blend at an apparent density of 1.75.
HydroPURE™
9174C PTFE Dispersion is a 60% aqueous dispersion of 4-micron
PTFE for special applications. It provides stir-in ease with
mild agitation. Applications: Special water-based formulae
with high slip needs.

MicroPURE™
Microcrystalline Waxes are recognized for their outstanding
color clarity and consistent physical properties. MicroPURE
waxes are typically blended with other performance ingredients
to produce firm, high payout lipsticks. Applications:
Lipsticks and cosmetic pencils.
- MicroPURE-195CW
melts at 195°F and is supplied as pure white prills or
pastils.
- MicroPURE-185CW
melts at 185°F and is supplied as pure white prills
or pastils.
- MicroPURE-175CW
melts at 175°F and is supplied as pure white prills
or pastils.
- MicroPURE-165CW
melts at 165°F and is supplied as pure white slabs.
- MicroPURE-155CW
melts at 155°F and is supplied as pure white slabs.

TexPURE™
Exfoliants are spherical polypropylenes for exceptional
skin feel in moderately aggressive formulae. They produce a
“suede-like” feel, in contrast to the abrasive touch of conventional
exfoliating agents. Applications: Hand, body and facial
exfoliants.
- TexPURE-1200P
is a spherical, 240-micron polypropylene powder.
- TexPURE-1400P
is a spherical, 380-micron polypropylene powder.
S-Nauba
Series Carnauba Waxes are selected from the finest Number
1 and Number 3 carnauba natural waxes and are provided as flakes
or powder. Applications: Suncare and color cosmetics.
